Student lottery for debate tickets now open
Published Sep. 18, 2012
The number of tickets Lynn will receive is still unknown, but all tickets allotted to the university by the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) will go to full-time undergraduate, graduate and evening students. Students can enter the lottery, which opened yesterday, for a chance to win a coveted ticket inside the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center which will serve as the debate hall, via a web-based form located on myLynn, the university’s intranet that is only accessible when using a university-issued login name and password.
"It's important that the Lynn student educational experience is at the forefront of this historical event," said Phil Riordan, vice president for student life at Lynn. "By giving tickets exclusively to students, we are giving them an experience of a lifetime."
Registration for the ticket lottery will close on Friday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. The official drawing for debate tickets will take place on Sunday, Oct. 21 at noon, in the Perper Plaza on campus, just one day before the Oct. 22 debate. Students must be present to win. No additional information about the drawing is available at this time, but more details should come in the next few weeks.
Debate tickets are not available for the public through Lynn University. In addition, administrators, faculty, staff, alumni and parents will not receive any tickets given to the university.
