StudentAdvisor 2012StudentAdvisor released its third list (spring 2012) of Top 100 Social Media Colleges, ranking Lynn University #43 in the nation. This ranking positions Lynn as the 4th leading social media college in the state behind the University of Florida (#14), the University of Miami (#18) and Full Sail University (#19). Other Florida colleges on the list include Florida International University (#64) and Rollins College (#90).

Although Lynn dropped one spot in the rankings this semester, from #42 in fall 2011 to #43 in spring 2012, the university is proud to be in the ranks with such large national institutions. Lynn was selected from among 6,000 federally-recognized colleges and universities and post-secondary schools in the United States for the mastery of public social media methods, tools and websites. The list qualitatively measures audience engagement via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and blogs, among other social media sites at each university.

This year, after the qualitative research that landed Lynn a top 50 spot on the list was complete, the StudentAdvisor team pointed to Lynn’s 2012 debate website as a hallmark of social media integration. “Lynn is hosting a presidential debate in October and have already started integrating social media strategy and campaigns to engage students and citizens," wrote StudentAdvisor.

As the presidential debate on Oct. 22  gets closer, Lynn plans to leverage the massive interest in the event to produce a major spike in its social media efforts and overall engagement.
