Lynn University receives “2014 Great College to Work For®” honor

Lynn University is one of the nation’s best colleges to work for, according to a new survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education. The results, which appear in The Chronicle’s seventh annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of more than 43,000 employees at 278 colleges and universities.
“We are a community that values the needs and contributions of every individual,” said Lynn University President Kevin M. Ross. “Our small size, merit-based structure and highly engaged people enable Lynn University to constantly improve and adapt. Our breadth of student and employee services, nationally praised core curriculum and successful iPad initiative are due to the hard work and dedication of our employees. Their unrelenting commitment to student achievement truly makes Lynn a great place to work.”
Lynn earned a spot within the publication’s Honor Roll given its high achievement across nearly every category, including:
- Collaborative governance
- Compensation and benefits
- Confidence in senior leadership
- Facilities, workspace and security
- Job satisfaction
- Respect and appreciation
- Supervisor / department chair relationship
- Work / life balance
In all, only 92 of the 278 institutions achieved “Great College to Work For®” recognition. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with Lynn included among the small universities.

The survey, administered by ModernThink LLC, a strategic human capital consulting firm that has conducted numerous “Best Places to Work” programs, involved a two-part assessment process. First, an institutional audit captured demographics and workplace policies from each institution; next, a survey was administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. Employee feedback was the primary factor that determined whether an institution received recognition.
