Oprah loves professor's handbags

Ellen Stern, a designer of couture handbags that appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2003, and a fashion photographer who has worked in major fashion hubs including New York City and Milan, Italy, is a new assistant professor of photography in Lynn University’s College of International Communication.
In 2002, Stern designed a line of art to
wear/couture handbags that are sold in high-end boutiques throughout the United
States, Canada, France, Italy and Saudi Arabia, and have been exhibited in
various museum shows worldwide. And one year later, in 2003, EJ Stern Handbags caught
The Oprah Winfrey Show’s attention and
was selected as one of 29 finalists (out of 10,000 products) to be featured on
Oprah’s “The Next Million Dollar Idea” show. In 2004, Oprah Winfrey personally
commissioned two custom EJ Stern handbags to match her Yves Saint Laurent suit
and Prada shoes
Source: Ellen Stern was born and raised in Baltimore, Md. She earned a bachelor of arts in English from Clark University in Mass., and continued her education at the University of Delaware, earning a master of fine arts. Currently, Stern lives in Boca Raton with her two children.
Prior to her position at Lynn, Stern worked commercially as a fashion photographer for 10 years in New York, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. and Milan, Italy, among others. In addition, Stern developed, taught and directed the Maryland Institute College of Art’s (MICA) summer study abroad Paris photography program in Paris, France, where students were immersed in an intensive technical and conceptual workshop that enabled them to thoroughly engage in the city of Paris through the medium of photography.
