Lynn releases ‘Season of the Arts’ calendar
Published Jul. 17, 2009
This season, Lynn is offering more than 50 cultural events ranging from classical music concerts to professional stage productions. And in an attempt to make those events more accessible to a broad audience, Lynn has reduced conservatory concert ticket fees, including a $5 reduction for admission to artist-faculty concerts from $25 to $20. Additionally, 25 percent of Lynn’s events are free, including all four events of the fourth annual New Music Festival and the Philharmonia Orchestra’s annual concert in Mizner Park.
Adding to the caliber of Lynn’s 2009-10 Season of the Arts is Libby Dodson’s Live at Lynn Series. The university and series producer Jan McArt are bringing six professional stage productions to campus including a performance, “London to Broadway” (Nov. 20-22), by John Capes, former phantom in London's Phantom of the Opera and Valjean in the Broadway production of Les Miserables; and “A Romantic Evening with Lorenzo Lamas” (Jan. 8-10, 2010) who appeared in all 227 episodes of the nighttime soap opera hit Falcon Crest and now combines his concert schedule with movie and television roles.
With construction of the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center well underway, the 750-seat theatre plans to open April 17-18, 2010 with Mitzi Gaynor performing “Razzle Dazzle! My Life Behind the Sequins.”
